1 Movie Review
- There was much hype around this movie, which is set in the world of high-fashion, high-stakes, and low tolerance for mistakes. The sequel to a much loved first, this movie had the bar set high. And before I get into what held it back, there were some aspects that were good. The costumes were modern and luxurious enough to fit the scenes, and I thought they did that well. The script included some more modern slang as well, making it feel truly like a reboot into this new era. And the directors were able to incorporate some contemporary problems that helped the movie's plot feel more relatable. However, the whole thing felt a little bit washed and forced. Part of what made The Devil Wears Prada so rewatched was that nostalgic, 2000's feel. And the remake is pretty much devoid of that. So while it was enjoyable enough to watch, the remake won't ever be as iconic as the original.
