I often heard my teacher read this book to us and it always left a warm feeling. It's the start of a touching story, beautifully crafted and illustrated by the talented Shel Silverstein.
Each day, the boy would visit the tree to enjoy her (apple tree)apples, play on her branches, and slide down her trunk... and the tree was content.
